York: A man died after accidentally falling off his roof while playing.

A 20-year-old man fell from the roof of a York building on Saturday March 16th. He was not wearing a safety harness when he fell, fatally injuring himself.

Around 4 am, North Yorkshire Police were called to a report of someone climbing on the building.

Soon after he fell to the ground and was taken to hospital, where he died.

The area between Spurriergate and Parliament Street was closed off while emergency services attended..

The incident occurred before police arrived on the scene. Officers established a cordon and launched an investigation to find out what happened.
